Thank you for your interest in my practice. I am no longer accepting clients as I close my practice and move to retirement.

During 30 years of practice as a licensed social worker and therapist I’ve worked with hundreds of individuals, couples, families, and groups. Improving relationships, addressing anxiety and depression, and making positive changes for marriage and family connections have been core parts of this work.

Helping people develop more skills, greater happiness, healing of old wounds, greater self-confidence, better group cooperation, and successful marriages have been important pieces of this psychotherapy. It’s been a privilege to have such a meaningful career helping people develop strong and healthy relationships, including with family members of all ages. I continue to experience great awe that people are willing to change by experiencing the healing power of love and connection.

EXPERIENCE:

The first 10 years of my mental health career were spent in social agencies providing therapy to families, groups, and individuals. In addition to crisis intervention and long-term therapy, I also co-led groups for battered women, sexual abuse survivors, and families experiencing divorce, and taught numerous adult education classes in churches and organizations.

For nearly 25 years I have been in private practice in Colorado, Missouri, Texas, and Minnesota. I specialized in couples work by becoming a Certified Gottman Therapist and a Certified Gottman Couples Workshop Leader, engaged in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy externship and core skills training, and regularly co-led The Art & Science of Love: A Weekend Workshop for Couples, and many other couples’ educational seminars. I actively participated in professional and peer groups and worked collaboratively with other therapists when needed.

EDUCATION:

My educational background of a Masters in Social Work from The University of Tennessee and a Masters in Divinity from Vanderbilt Divinity School provides a great combination for both practical support while clarifying larger questions of meaning and engagement.

License & Certification:

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Texas 51554; Missouri 011607; Colorado 991156; Minnesota LICSW 29916). I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Minnesota Society for Clinical Social Work.
